Frequently Asked Questions

If you need to close your program temporarily, contact licensing to have your license placed on inactive status. If you’re considering closing permanently but want to explore available resources and supports, please fill out this form. A Provider Supports staff member will reach out to you. They can also guide you through the permanent closure process, if necessary.

YMCA Childcare Resource Service can review your profile to help with referrals. Our Provider Supports staff can also pull reports showing what types of child care services families in your zip code are looking for, as well as the types of care currently available. We also offer resources on marketing your program, along with trainings on digital and social media marketing.

Our YMCA Childcare Resource Service Referral Line staff can assist families in finding a new child care program that meets their needs. Feel free to share the Referral Line with the families you serve. The number is 1-800-481-2151. Families can also search online by visiting www.ymcasd.org/childcare.

YMCA Childcare Resource Service will be notified at the end of the month if you close, but it’s helpful to update your profile and mark ‘no referrals’ once you know your closing date. If you have children on Alternative Payment, you should also notify them so they can process any paperwork required to signify your end date of care.
